<< Large Scale Shows – A Tale from the Dreamtime

The show is set in a Child’s bedroom with her waking up to find that the toys on her bedside mobile are coming to life. She looks up to see a Jester sitting high on a trapeze, who is holding the strings of a marionette puppet on the ground. He manipulates the puppet tumbling her backwards and forwards until she begins to gain control of her strings. Finally breaking free, she climbs up onto the trapeze where they perform a comical duet. The Jester’s legs stretch to 4 metres in length and the marionette hangs from them contorting and twisting.

Meanwhile two cheeky Zebras and a Jester stilt dog creep up and steel the Jesters legs with a high energy pursuit ensuing, culminating with the zebras being spun on web ropes. The Jester and Puppet perform a beautiful aerial trapeze duet full of comedy, daring drops and stunning balances.

The inquisitive child then opens her wardrobe door and two rag dolls tumble out, who playfully contort and tumble performing hand balancing and acro-balance on the child’s A,B,C building blocks.

Then music from a band can be heard in the auditorium and comical Toy soldiers playing musical instruments march through the audience and onto the stage. Playing cards flop out of the wardrobe and start break-dancing, tumbling and building card towers that grow and tumble down and reform into new towers.

Then the child discovers a large parcel wrapped with a giant ribbon, which she opens to reveal a beautiful painted music box with a ballerina doll inside, which pops up and begins rotating to the music. As the child touches the ballerina she comes to life, dancing out of the box and gracefully climbing up the silk curtains of the child’s room where she performs a graceful and stunning aerial routine.

As the music fades, sounds of laughter come from the wardrobe and toy clowns tumble out, performing high energy acrobatics. Then the Toy soldier band marches on playing gustily whilst a giant mobile with 4 aerial hanging points lowers down from the roof. The child sits in the middle of it and four ‘toys’ hang off the aerial points. As it is winched up, the child watches in amazement as the aerialist perform high in the air, while other toys are dancing below, creating a high energy visual extravaganza. Then the mobile slowly rotates, the child spins, the toys fade away, leaving the child alone in the middle of her room.

As she searches for her new found friends, a giant 12 foot high Puppet emerges and the two of them gracefully dance around the bedroom before the Puppet puts the child back to bed. All is possible in a child’s imagination and the world of dreams, creating this beautiful and enchanting Tale from the Dream Time.
